Tips for Telehealth Success

Is the space private? In a pinch a laundry room, closet, or safely parked car will do.
Can you lock the door? If not, will others with access to the space respect your request for privacy and not enter the room?
Can others outside the room hear you talking? If so, can you create white noise with a fan or other background noise? Consider using headphones or earbuds so others cannot hear your therapist’s voice.

Basic Tech Considerations
A laptop or desktop computer is ideal — preferably with a large display
If you’re using a tablet or phone, please make sure it is in a stand and is stable
Please make sure that the camera is about level with your eyes; it may require you to elevate the device or camera
Please make sure that you’re well lit and don’t have a bright light source directly behind you

Move your computer as close as you can to your WiFi router (the box that broadcasts the WiFi.) Or better yet, plug your computer into the router with an Ethernet cable.
Next, quit or close out of any programs you don’t need.
