FAQS

  • Reaching out is the most challenging part when looking for support or considering making a change. Once you contact me, I will schedule a 15-minute, no-fee consultation with you, and together we will decide if working with me would be a good fit for you. You can request a free compatability HERE.

  • Intensives aside, we will meet every week or every other week. This is for your benefit. From experience working with clients, I know you need to meet frequently and consistently to get the most benefit and help you reach your goals. Research supports that clients who attend therapy weekly have better treatment outcomes.

  • I offer a variety of session lengths for flexibility and convenience. For a detailed breakdown, visit my services and fees section.

  • The length of time in therapy can vary, depending on your goals, motivation, and needs. After your questionnaire, we’ll determine a personal plan to address your needs. Some relationship issues are more complex than others and take longer to heal. I will help you track your progress, and when you’re ready to finish your sessions, I will celebrate with you and develop a plan to help you maintain what you’ve achieved.

  • No. I do offer super bills for out-of-network reimbursement. You would submit them to your insurance company and handle the reimbursement process.

  • Payment for your full session fee is due at the time of service. I require a credit card to be on file in our secure practice management system. I take major credit cards and debit cards.

  • I maintain a 48-hour cancellation policy. For appointments canceled with less than 48 hours notice, the full fee of the appointment will be charged.

  • Yes. I am a licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in California. For this reason, I can only work with clients who are in California.

  • Please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room in case of emergencies. If you are not in immediate danger but need to speak to someone urgently, please contact the 24–hour Crisis Hotline at (800) 273-TALK (8255) or (650) 579-0350.

  • I am happy you selected to work with me using teletherapy video sessions. You can learn more about tele-therapy and how to prepare for your first session HERE.

  • I typically take 6 to 8 weeks of vacation or sabbatical each year and 1 to 2 weeks off for training. Prior to vacation times, I will work with you to create a plan for the time while I am away. I encourage you to use these times to reflect on your own and put the skills we’ve worked on into practice.

  • If I do not hear from you, I will wait on the call for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, I will consider the appointment a no-show, and the cancellation/rescheduling fee policy mentioned above will apply. If you are more than 15 minutes late and you coordinate with me, we can have an abbreviated session. If you are late, your session will end at the scheduled time out of fairness for other clients.
